January 7, 2004 -- Nicolette has been an artist since childhood and a poet since her early teens. She has always been naturally enthusiastic and full of energy. Nicolette strives to live a simple but meaningful life and is passionate about her art. As the sixth child of seven, she learned to create poetry and art as a way to express herself and find peace in an otherwise chaotic environment. From an early age she has always enjoyed listening to soothing music like Mozart, which gives a lovely backdrop to what she is creating on paper, whether it be with paint or words.

Nicolette offers high quality, bright and colorful, uplifting artwork. Her work is available in limited edition prints and an award winning company makes her limited edition giclee's on canvas. To create each original she uses a variety of mediums including pencil, charcoal, pastel chalks, black pen and aqua media which is a combination of brilliant watercolors from Russia and acrylics from France and all water based products, on thick watercolor paper from Italy.
Her Rainbow Series, Pre'cis Originals, of her cat Rainbow and her 4 chickens are aprox. 15 x 20 stretched canvas and handpainted with acrylic. The stapled sides are usually painted with contrasting color and can be hung without a frame. Each has a hidden Bible verse that goes along with the subject.

Nicolette's artwork is reasonably priced, with a variety of sizes to choose from. Originals are also available. Nicolette uses many layers to get the bright color and texture she wants. Many have said her artwork looks like that of Van Gogh. Single mother of three for 15 years now she is always busy, never bored. She makes her own frames, signs, numbers and packages all her work and markets herself. She has been interviewed on the news many times, been in the paper over 40 times, read her poetry live on TV and radio and shown her art and read poetry on Cable TV several times. Determined to be successful she turns every stone, she reads a lot and won't give up! She has been known to stay up into the wee hours of the night painting or researching.

Overcoming her shyness in the last few years, Nicolette has read her poems to thousands of people. Her poems are easily understood and have been known to make even a truck driver cry. She writes sometimes about serious subjects like divorce, abortion and suicide but surprisingly is able to end on a positive, encouraging note.

She offers her down to earth poetry in 2 small books: In Other Words and The Man I Love and 2 tapes: Left Over People and Recycled Love, that will touch your heart and inspire you. They are also great for gift giving. Nicolette's work is unique and her personal attention to detail is evident.

Nicolette also enjoys teaching art to children. She has taught art to children at Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA in their College For Kids program for 8 years during the summer. She has taught a variety of classes on Cable T.V. kids show called The Goof Off Show in San Jose, CA. She has taught several art classes at the Los Gatos Recreation Dept. and private lessons in Arroyo Grande, CA.
